Finding Happiness in France

Many people have seen the beauty and mystique of France portrayed in movies.  Although it is lovely, it is not reality.  If you move to France with unjust expectations, you will feel let down.  If you properly plan and seek out ways to integrate into the French way of life, you will be much happier.  There are many ways to find happiness in France.  Through clubs and organisations, the social scene, and neighbours, many people are finding complete and total happiness after moving to France.  There is so much to do and so many wonderful people to encounter, France is definitely the place to be.

There are several clubs and organisations for new and old citizens of France.  They are a great way to meet people and really start to feel comfortable in the country.  There are several types of clubs that a person could join, all of which will help you meet friends, understand the culture, and even sample some French cuisine.  If you were involved in some kind of club in the UK, find out if it is also offered in France; this is an easy way to be involved with something you feel somewhat familiar with.  Also, there are several Anglo-French organisations that are available as well and these are one simple way to begin on the road to happiness in France.

Another way to find happiness in France is to test out the social scene.  Bars and restaurants are prevalent in the major cities.  By visiting the same bars continually, you will eventually begin to meet people and find comfort and friendship among them.  Obviously, it would be your hope to become a regular at a certain establishment, and no longer be considered a tourist.  Although meaningful relationships are not always found in such places, it is a great way to make yourself feel more at home and integrated.

One other easy way to find happiness is through relationships with your neighbours.  French people are generally very kind, and it will not take long to get to know your neighbours.  Although the language barrier could exist, with time you will see the relationship develop.  By cultivating the friendship, you and your neighbour will be happy and willing to help each other if necessary.  Take the time to get to know your neighbours.  They will be very helpful in emergencies or possibly if you must go out of town.  After moving to France, you will want new French friends - your neighbours are a perfect place to start.

It is definitely possible to find happiness in France.  Many people are making the transition and acclimating very easily.  Relationships and friendships are the easiest way to find happiness.  By seeking out people with similar interests, you will feel great about your move to France.  Happiness is only a move away!
